Danger, Warning! Training
at Nino's
Luke Donovan's
experiences at the Kwoon.
HORRIBLE. SHIT! CRAP!
STAY AWAY IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU!
I had the crap smashed out of me on a daily
basis and I still didn't learn how to beat
people up!
Not only that, I was brainwashed and only
thanks to seven months of deprogramming am I
begining to put my life back together.
Believing that Nino was the new chinese
messiah I walked of the cliffs overlooking
Esvedra to prove I could fly.
Nino charged me 50 thousand euros for a
supposed taoist breathing tecnique to boost
sexual pefrormance that tuned out to involve
blowing into a vacuum cleaner pipe. The
swelling in my lips still hasn`t gone down!
A last word of advice. If aproached by an
Austrian gigilo wearing a " FOLLOW ME "
t-shirt, run. Run for your life.
But seriously folks...Budum pash.
I am honoured to recomend the Wing Chun
kung-fu system as taught by Nino Bernardo.
As a direct result of Nino´s instruction I
have found a new balance of mind and body.
Posture, strength, balance and flexability
have all vastly improved eliminating back
and neck pains brought on by poor posture
and incorect guitar playing technique.
I am fascinated by the deep understand of
the engineering of the human body contained
in the system and the logical simplicity of
its postures and movements. This has
increased my enjojment and apreciation of
arts such as dance and music.
Before I left spain to go travelling the
world I was a singer in a rock band and I'm
not afraid to admit that I would often lose
control, and jump around like a demented
monkey. Due to excessive movent and
nervousness I would often become breathless
while on stage and would have to fight to
regain my breath. This was uncool and my
singing suffered. Wing Chun teaches one to
remain calm, relaxed and in control of
oneself under pressure. I endevoured to take
that attitude to the stage and became
grounded, adopting a physical posture and a
mental attitude that allowed the music to
flow bringing the technical aspects of my
performance, timing, tuning and delivery
under my control. Instead of jumping around
I now stood still as sang with smooth powerl
content to let the the audience jump up and
down. Instead of finishing a concert sweaty
and tired I would now retire feeling like a
triunfant samurai.
Thanks Nino.
A word of warning, training is highly
addictive and enjoyable. You body and mind
cry,"This is goooood! More. More! MORE!"
